We’re Back! Reflecting on Ramadan…

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Welcome back my dear brothers and sisters, I hope you all had a fantastic Eid-ul Fitr, Eid Mubarak by the way. I cannot believe that Ramadan has already come to the end and the only blogs I have written are on Ramadan. This one will be too, because today, we will be discussing about reflection at the end of Ramadan. What does the end mean for us and what can we do.

Subhanallah time does fly nowadays, and actually this is a sign that the end is near. We don’t know if we will make it to the next Ramadan. Only Allah knows, and it is in His right to take us back as he truly wills. While we have had the blessing of celebrating Eid at the end of Ramadan, it is important to reflect on our actions. What good deeds were achieved, what bad actions were done, was the time used well? This is a good way of using our time now.

For some ideas on how to reflect, why don’t you pull out a notebook and pen and on a blank page, start writing in a diary style, going though each day briefly through the whole month. Then, read it and identify you good deeds and your bad deeds. The good ones, appreciate them. The bad ones, seek forgiveness for them and think about how will you make next year’s Ramadan better that this year’s? What could you do to diminish these little bad deeds? While this year you may be more happy that last year, what can you do to carry on that feeling of satisfaction at the end of the month again? You can only get better, and there are so many ways in which you can do good deeds. Every second of everyday can be used. Perhaps you are busy all day doing errands, why don’t you read dhikr or some surahs in transit so that you are at least doing something do gain rewards while simply sitting around on a bus or driving your car. Growing your knowledge is incredibly important as well, and one way which you can grow your knowledge is by reading a version on the Quran in your native language so that you can clearly understand what Allah has written in your Holy Book. There are so many things which can be done, so think and write and inshallah use this as your plan for next year if you get to see another Ramadan.

That is it for today, I know that it is shorter than usual, now that I have started writing blog posts again, my brain is not used to writing so much after almost 2 months of not writing. This is why I am starting with longer posts, but eventually, I will inshallah start writing longer posts for you to enjoy. Since the beginning of this journey I have not yet seen any views or comments, but I am motivated to bringing someone some content, and if anyone is seeing this, please share this post and others with other people and spread the word, it would mean so much to me. And if you could support this blog, that would be much appreciated. As always, we will make dua for eachother. Jumma Mubarak, and I will see you next week inshallah!

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
